A literature review on vehicular Adhoc Network for intelligent transport VANETS are a sub area of MANETS (is Mobile Ad hoc Networks that can configure itself without wires) where the dynamic ad hoc network is composed of vehicles as nodes. Vehicles utilizing wireless communication capabilities are termed as “computers networks on wheels” having data sharing capabilities. Vehicles can obtain either information from Road side base station or rely upon other vehicles for information to provide road safety travelers comfort. This paper presents various aspects of VANET to help researchers to understand and distinguish its Architecture, Characteristics, Challenges and Applications from MANETS in one solid document and show that active research efforts are made to make VANET.
