Design of a Cooperative Video Streaming System on Community Based Resource Sharing Networks As broadband networks become more common, distributing HD (High-Definition) quality video streamshas become increasingly popular in ordinary scenes. However, our live streaming network environments don’t always have enough resources to distribute high quality video streams. On the other hand, by sharing personal computer systems for video distribution, the whole system will be able to allocate more resources to distribute better quality video streams. In this paper, we propose a design of a video streaming system on community based resource sharing networks, which includes a relay path selection method to select and use suitable stream paths cooperatively in sharing resources. Onlive video distribution, a candidate relay path list is created when users request to receive live videostreams, and the best path is selected, then if a new relay node is required, the suitable relay node is placed on sharing networks in consideration of available resource status. We have a plan to implement the prototype system and evaluate the relay path selection method. This paper outlines the prototype implementation also.
